Jane grew up in Toronto, in an artistic home where art was an integral part of daily life. As a child, she joined her father (professional photographer and long serving member of The Arts and Letters Club) on visits to the homes of his artist friends, such as prominent Group of Seven artist, A.J. Casson. 

It seemed natural for Jane to follow an artistic path. She earned a BFA and a BEd in Visual Art from Queen’s University. She has worn 2 professional hats along her journey, that of Art Educator and that of Professional Artist. Since 2012 she has focused entirely on her painting career.
